Laboratory versions are
technically full updates. They usually contain improvements compared to the
current official update. In addition, problems have been fixed that were reported in the previous updates of version 10 and could be reproduced.
However, laboratory versions can also contain extensions that are initially only implemented on a trial basis and are not officially released later.
Laboratory versions form an
additional offer. If you wish, you can use the improvements they contain before the next official version is released. But of course the use of laboratory versions is voluntary.
For certain reasons, however, we want to limit our warranty and consumer protection obligations to the
current official version. Laboratory versions are therefore made available without guarantee.
So that laboratory versions can be better distinguished from official versions, laboratory versions are identified by appending a serial number to the version of the preceding official version. Laboratory versions can therefore be recognized by the fact that the last letter of the version is followed by more than one digit.
Example: Official version: 10.0A1. Subsequent laboratory version: 10.0A11
